April 9-11, 2010 - Appomattox History Weekend at Clover Hill Village - Visit with  "Lee and his Lieutenants" along with "Grant and his Generals", members of Appomattox Historical Society, Appomattox United Daughters of the Confederacy, Sons of Confederate Veterans. Many will be in period dress to open the season at Clover Hill Village.

Living history exhibits, including several hundred reenactors, with book signings. Vendors and sutlers will be at Clover Hill Village. Friday will be school day, Saturday open to public with admission fee.

 

April 11, 2010 - 144th Annual Confederate Memorial Service - Confederate Cemetery at Surrender Grounds - conducted by the Appomattox Chapter UDC, speaker Wayne Ritchie, portrayer of Mathew Brady, civil war photographer, music, poetry, wreath laying and flag presentations, period dress ( Special Guest: "Lee and his Lieutenants" and "Grant and his Generals") - 2:00 pm - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC  no admission fee.- If you would like to present a wreath, please email, carolyne@appomattoxudc.com 
 
April 11, 2010 - 4PM Marker dedication, Robert E Lee Wayside, Marker commemorates the last campsite of Lee and his soldiers on the night of April 12, 1865. The Elliott Grays United Daughters of the Confedeacy chapter will host the dedication.
 
May 1, 2010 - Appomattox Chapter meeting - J. Robert Jamerson Library Appomattox, VA - 11:00 a.m.
 
June 3, 2010 - Birthday of Jefferson Davis, President of the Confederacy
 
June 5, 2010 - Appomattox Chapter meeting - to be in Richmond, VA, Hollywood Cemetery for National Jefferson Davis Birthday celebration at 10 AM, and UDC Memorial Building Massing of the Flags at 2PM, "OPEN TO THE PUBLIC".
 
June 5, 2010 - Massing of the Flags - UDC Office - Richmond, Virginia  -2:00 pm - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
 
June 5, 2010 - National Memorial Service for celebrating birthday of Jefferson Finis Davis at Hollywood Cemetery - Richmond, Virginia Appomattox Chapter will present a wreath - 10:00 am - OPEN TO THE PUBLIC.
